Default 55 monk in the underworld - where am i going wrong?

Little help please!

I decided to reward my warrior with a set of Obsidian Armor for the hall of monuments .I've registed an Elite for each campaign apart from EOTN so far and wanted the obsidian for the crowning glory as such (fugly or not)

Anywho... when realising its approx 800k at standard sale prices, i thought a 55 monk might be a good way to supplement the ecto cost by getting a few freebies in the undeworld.

I use the 55 monk setup as on PVX wiki

Shield of Judgement
Protective Spirit
Healing Breeze
Blessed Signet
Balthazaars spirit
mending
blessed aura
Judge's Intervention

dropped escence bond in the standard 55 for judges intervention (the extra 180 damage helps the axxtes go down a bit quicker).

Don't really have an issue with the axxte's or those bas**** dying nightmares. The issue is with the grasping darknesses that kill me 9 out of 10 times, then getting to the ice wastes i get eaten by behemoths.

I've tried a sympathetic visage and find the grasps still get me most times! Same with the bonnetis defence as i never get adrenaline quick enough.

(im also doing core farming / raptor farming with my warrior and troll farming with the 55 variant i posted above to buy ecto's and keep the economy moving so its not all bad)

Any help is apprecitated even if its "YEA GADS! WHY ARE YOU USING THOSE SKILLS YOU MUPPET!"

I'm not rich so ill imagine a piece of cake to any helpy helpers!

Cheers!

Swap out judges intervention i guess then?

Won't this shut down my maintained enchantments if it drains too much energy or i am talking rubbish? And im guessing only use for the grasping darknesses?

Use mantra of resolve but do not aggro more than one group of graspings, or the fear me + energy loss from the mantra will be too much.

I suggest either
-Getting an SS partner and dropping your SOJ so can set up better to survive.
-Use one of the other UW solo builds (W/Rt, E/Me) which are far easier.

I'm guessing that you keep getting interupted by the grasps.

You should go back and try sv & av is poss
You can probably swap them in for blessed sig & your 8th skill.

If energy is a problem then just switch out blessed aura too & stick essence bond on.
Healing breeze is now 15 seconds long & with a sword +20 longer enchants & +5 energy you should be fine.
Just remember to switch to you wand when the nm's pop.

When you encounter the grasps, stick sv on before they attack so they lose energy straight away. When sv is about to run out, stick av on and keep them continuous, you shouldn't have any problems at all. Just make sure that both sv & av last for 8 seconds & that you have a 20% longer enchants mod on w/e you're using.

GL!

thanks all

Edited my post to make the 8th skill clearer.

Ill try the spoil victor setup as well. I do have a guildie who runs a necro but the obsidian behemoths wipe us both out (the energy denial spirit)

I have a feeling i am being dense and just heading the wrong way....

Yes I was wondering as well, why are you fighting behemoths? Following clearing the chamber you should go directly to the smites, as they are where the ectos drop.

Edit:
O and if you don't know the way to the smites, look at a map on the wiki or check youtube for an UW solo guide.

I like the A/E build personally. Although there is a bit of a downtime waiting for SF recharge.

With a few build tweaks and dragging my friends SS Necro kicking and screaming down to the underworld with me, managed to get to the Ice Wastes and take on some smites. Thanks a lot guys & girls

If you have factions I'd suggest the W/Rt VwK build, my record time on a solo smite run is 10 minutes from entrance all smites cleared.
